Russia is leading among chocolate suppliers in the Chinese and Saudi Arabian markets, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said after the meeting, where the prospects for exports of confectionary products were discussed.
"China and Saudi Arabia are the most promising areas for supply. Russia now ranks first among chocolate suppliers in these countries," the statement said.
Last year Russian confectionary products were supplied to 95 countries. At the same time, 70% of the volume is shipped to the traditional markets of the CIS countries, 9% to China and 5% to the Middle East countries. Exports have increased by 56% in the last four years.
Positive growth in exports was maintained at the beginning of 2022. "At the same time, as pointed out at the meeting, Russia has high productivity without the participation of foreign funds, which guarantees the stability of the sector under the existing circumstances," the statement said.
